How to Configure pfSense on EVE-NG
Step
1: Open
the EVE-NG in the browser then ‘add an object’ and select the Node.
Step 2: Add pfSense Node and Start the
node.

Step 3: Start pfSense node.

Step 4: Set VLAN for LAN interface.
Interfaces will be assigned as follow:
WAN - vtnet1
LAN - vtnet0

Step 4: By
default, pfSense will pick an interface to set-up as the LAN interface with
DHCP and leave the WAN interface unconfigured.

Step 5: Assign IPv4 address to LAN interface. This address
should not be in use anywhere else on the network. The next prompt will ask for
the subnet mask and then assign the Upstream IPv4 Gateway. Next will ask to revert pfSense’s web tool to the HTTP protocol.

Step
6: You
can also assign IP for WAN interface as:
Step 7: Login to Windows Machine with username: user and
password: Test123 and assign static IP address.
Step 8: Now we can manage the PfSense node via GUI default username is admin and
password is pfsense.
Step 9: After a successful login
through the web interface for the first time, pfSense will run through an
initial setup to reset the admin password.
CONCLUSION:
pfSense is an open source firewall/router computer software distribution based on FreeBSD. It is installed on a physical computer or a virtual
machine to make a dedicated firewall/router for a network. It can be configured
and upgraded through a web-based interface, and requires no knowledge of the
underlying FreeBSD system to manage.
